Red Sky at Night...

Red reflection bleeds
across the water as Sun
surrenders the day

I too relinquish,
give this day up to the tomes
of time past – finished
though still incomplete.
Long wavelengths shimmer, quiver
flash upon the cones

The brightest beauty
revealed for just a moment
do not turn away.

  1. I'll never surrender to red of blue
Maybe if I get stuck on glue
    Could be true
    Nice verse by you

  2. What a stunning image! And I like how you've taken sunset's momentary beauty and applied it to life. Even after day's end,

    long wavelengths shimmer, quiver
    flash upon the cones

    - beautiful imagery. And great insight (and advice) in the final lines.

  5. Beautiful - "do not turn away". I miss the sunsets I knew at the beach....we just gets streaks across the sky here, as we are ringed by mountains. Sunsets are one of life's greatest gifts.
