Done

Give it up sweetie.
I know what you’re thinking
but, your goose is cooked.

This haiku was inspired by the writing prompt at Magpie Tales and is also linked to The Poetry Pantry at Poets United.  And yes, I know they're actually ducks, but I can't resist a good (or bad) pun.

  2. You are not the only one who puns. I marvel at how many idioms of this sort crowd my head and are instantly understood - blows my mind, yes?

What is even better, everyone seems to have different interests and it is now easy to find an idiom and what it means by going online. Going online - another coinage.

I use idioms in my poetry often.

  6. I like "give it up", and "sweetie" in a food poem, and the comma after "but" that gives a conversational-feeling pause.
