As you age you may lose:
-joy from licking the sugar-dust off a stick of gum
-soles that can walk on gravel
-wishes from dandelion seeds
-your invisible friends
-magic
-the effects of fairy dust
-the ability to taste your dreams
…or to even remember them.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOo:( I miss all these
ReplyDeleteI missed those fairy dust and childhood dreams ~ Good one Mary ~
ReplyDeleteI miss being able to walk on gravel in my bare feet. But I remember. I remember it was easy. I remember dandelion necklaces and Teaberry gum and making bracelets with the gum wrappers. I remember having dreams I thought would come true.
ReplyDeleteIt's always worth coming here.
Dang, I don't even remember tasting my dreams. I've lost so much.
ReplyDeleteGrow up? what is that? lol
ReplyDeleteDreams? Growing up? Remember What?
ReplyDeleteMary Bach...You Rock!
I'll heed your advice and reconsider
Loved your Never Never land 55
Thanks for playing and sharing YOUR dreams...:-)
Have a Kick Ass Week-End
I seem to have lost most of these quite a while ago, except I can often remember my dreams. Very sweet poem!
ReplyDeletePoetry keeps us in that young mind. Love your beautiful list of gems from childhood, especially the sugar dust on gum.
ReplyDeletei will never grow up...ha...those moments i have to act like an adult often make me sad...smiles...some fun things on that list...might tneed to see how many i can do this weekend...smiles.
ReplyDeleteI think we all need to keep the mind of children, never mind our physical age! Smiles.
ReplyDelete*sigh* very true :(
ReplyDeleteThankfully there is a child in all of us..or most of us :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully we never completely loose our sense of wonder--like looking at a star-filled sky on a crystal-clear winter night, watching a sunset paint the clouds in pink and purple, and knowing in our heart of hearts that Santa exists in all of us. Here's to the best things in life that can't be seen, only felt!! May we stay forever young!
ReplyDeleteYes, cheers Ginny! Thanks for keeping me from getting too morbid. :o)
