Even Numbered Days!

     Imageblog.risermedia.com

I never take me seriously
on even numbered days;
that’s when the heavens open
and lucky seven pays.
With gumdrops falling from the sky
and penny puddles all around,
ruby slippers go on SALE
and that’s where I’ll be found.

So today at the top of my list
is meeting you for a little tryst.

Happy National Gumdrop Day to G-man and all the good folks at FF55.  Check it out for some short, sweet writing!

  1. Gumdrop Day??? I missed Gumdrop Day? I love gumdrops and I love this little gem. Seven has always been my lucky number and maybe it's time to buy some ruby slippers...

    Somebody is gonna get Lucky.
    Somebody already is Lucky!!
    Loved your sugary 55
Yet another example of your writing versatility, you can be brilliantly whimsical when you choose to be.
Thanks for finally playing, and have a Kick Ass Week End

    1. Heeheehee - just trying not to take myself too seriously after the last couple pieces. Thanks for both comments Brian!

  5. Gumdrops do have a serious downside. Trying feeding a handful to a horse. Gums up the poor soul's teeth and makes his eyes water. Caramels have the same effect. (Don't take this comm seriously though, particularly if you're wearing your ruby slippers.)

    1. Hahaha - well I can tell you're not a horse doctor! Horses love gumdrops, you just have to remind them to floss after! ;-)
