Four Seasons in One Day from Open Source Images
After drooping heat,
grey autumn rain chills into
winter’s mocking snow
which settles on bud and shoot.
That’s April in Wisconsin.
This is for PAD Day #11 and the Imaginary Garden, sort of.
If the rain gets rid of the snow, April doesn't sound so low
ReplyDeletelovely tanka, the hope intimated is inspirational

The cycle of the seasons is a wonderful response to the prompt of finding balance. Thanks for linking! A very cool accompanying image as well.
ReplyDeleteWorks for the northeast, too! Just a week ago we were getting snow showers, sleet and freezing rain on Wednesday night! Spring can definitely be four seasons in one! Perfectly captured!
ReplyDeleteA very intriguing poem... :D
ReplyDeleteVery powerful imagery of Nature..!

ReplyDeleteYes, it is true. But, still underneath it is spring. Beautiful poem

It's been known to happen here in a bad year--glad its not the normal process, tho.You build the picture of frustrated spring perfectly, Mary --"give us a break already!" ;_)
ReplyDeleteLove that you state where spring looks like this...excellent details, Mary.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very nice place to have April ~ loved the way you described it.
ReplyDeleteI have been in hospital for over a week and just got home . . . . leg was very badly infected . . . feeling quite a bit better now . . . . :)
I'm glad you're better Eddie! Take care.
DeleteSeasoning...life, nature Where would we be without it?
ReplyDeleteAh, the cycle of the seasons —reminding us that it is natural for one set of circumstances to give way to the next, as the wheel turns.
ReplyDeleteHa! That is like April in the Catskills-- and yet it is lovely too. Thanks, Mary! k.
ReplyDeleteDarn this month of fools~ April brings it all~ Fun, to read, frustrating to live~
ReplyDeletewe mostly get heat, then heat, then some wind, and then some heat. and a spritz of rain, of the sort that makes you go, 'really? that's it?' ~
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. I didn't really follow the prompt at IGRT, this was more of PAD. I've been reading some amazing stuff of yours, and if I haven't yet I will today. What a talented bunch of toads! Thank you again for your comments.
