Your move;
I wait

You take your time to
take your turn.
I wait.

This is the game we play:
Your move,
while passive, patient,
plotting, planning,
in my head
I grow bitter
for this is the game we play.

You take your time to
take your turn
I wait.

Your move;
I wait.

  2. Sounds like a lot of waiting going on
    Sure it will finish before dawn?

  5. Tough not to grow bitter and lose patience over waiting on such "games." I like this Mary, well conceived!

  6. If you play lightning chess, you each have to move within, like, ten seconds. That would solve that. 'Course, you're not really talking about chess...so that would be some real slam-bam-thank-you-ma'm! LOL

  8. The waiting game. Nicely described. I can feel its tension.

  9. Oh yeah-- been there, hate that, but totally agree on the ten second timer. Great progression and sense of tension in this one, Mary.
