Nothing matches…
not my socks or my tenses.
And it can get very tense
when I realize all I’m wearing is
mismatched socks,
and I’m standing
at my locker
in school
and I forgot which class I’m supposed to go to,
but there’s a test..
and I didn’t study -
I didn’t know there was a test
didn’t know what the test is about
didn’t know I was still in school
didn’t know I was being tested
with nothing but a pair of mismatched socks.
Oh dear...are you telling me taht my socks should match? Now there's a problem. My experience is if you put three identical pair of socks in the wash, you get back five socks and no two are the same colour.
ReplyDeleteHa - that's my experience too. My theory is that there is a portal inside the dryer to a parallel universe, where all these lone socks are collecting! :o)
DeleteNow that's when the world turns upside down :P
ReplyDeleteHmmm my socks rarely match, but to I care? Nope, not at my lair. One of those days it sounds like though.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think cats wore socks, lol.
Deletethat sounds like a very bad dream:-)
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly.
Delete...or my tenses.
ReplyDeleteThe whole poem made me smirk (been there done that) and I am always screwing up my tenses... Fun mid-way-through April poem.
Thanks Margaret - glad I'm not the only one!
DeleteSounds like the worst type of anxiety dream.
ReplyDeleteYes, I wish I had more dreams of flying and less of this kind!
DeleteHa! I've had that dream, and it is very disturbing. There's a lightness to this, though, that just makes it impossible not to smile and say,'O well, deal with it, world.'
ReplyDeleteI tend to be a worrier, and then laugh at myself for it...
DeleteIf all you're wearing is mismatched socks, people would probably not focus on them.
ReplyDelete:o) lol
