Road Trip

I want to

get in my car

and drive

fast

down a road

I’ve never taken

before.

I want to drive

over the curve

of the world

into the sun

and glance, just once,

in the rear view mirror

at the dust rising

in my wake;

a mushroom cloud

of goodbyes.
