Playing Games

Sitting in the kitchen
playing Mahjong
she chooses tiles
with a satisfying click~

match: spring and winter
match: south winds
match: slash sevens

Every tile has a match,
but sometimes
the pairs never come together.

This is for IGwRT and NaPoWriMo Day #13.

  1. This is wonderful! It is very common, yet you've really put a larger meaning in there too. Perfect!

  5. I like the everyday tiles, and that matching that never comes, superb metaphor ~

  6. Yeah that good match sometimes is just out of reach.

  7. Nicely done! I like the matched pairs metaphor. Deceptively simple, like B.C. This poem reminded me so much of my mother and her cronies playing mah jong every week! I can't seem to grasp the game myself...

    Thanks for playing along!

  9. Nice click of tiles, and having been fairly addicted to playing Mahjong on the computer, I share the frustration of the mismatch.
