How to remain alone in a crowd:

1. look down
    keep to yourself
    don't make eye contact

2. hunch your shoulders
    into a shield
    to deflect any possible interactions

3. draw your indifference
    tight around yourself
    don't make eye contact

  9. You've described how to be alone in a crowd perfectly. I think we all do it- while shopping, eating out- not to this extreme though- Nice take on the prompt!

  11. Southwest Arkie-Thanks, yes, there is a special irony with being so alone in such a crowd.

Nicholas - Thank you. That that is a depressing painting...alienation is a good word.
